A website that makes reaching out feel easy

A women's mental health community where the website's whole job is lowering the barrier to walking through the door for the first time.

The challenge

The Girls Club runs weekly peer support sessions and events for women across the UK. Their visitor isn’t a customer comparing quotes - she’s often someone having a hard time, deciding whether reaching out is safe. A site that felt corporate, clinical or pushy would lose her in seconds.

What we did

  • Warm, not clinical. Design and words that feel like the community does - “come as you are” - rather than a healthcare brochure.
  • Made the path unmissable. Three steps, that’s it: see what’s on, show up, you’re in. No referral, no forms, no gatekeeping - and the site says so plainly.
  • Handled the serious bit responsibly. Clear, careful signposting that the club isn’t a crisis service, with the right routes to urgent help - visible without dominating.
  • Built for a growing community. Sessions and events easy to keep current, a volunteer recruitment route, and a mailing list for the women who aren’t ready to come along yet.

The result

A website that does the hardest job in marketing: making a nervous first-time visitor feel expected. She can see what’s on this week, know nobody needs to refer her, and just show up.
